Fear is a pervasive emotion that affects all mammals, including humans. In most animal species it is designed to alert its subject to threats to survival so that it may run or fight depending upon the circumstances. It is thus a useful early warning system. This is also true of humans where the emotion arises under similar circumstances and provides the opportunity to take appropriate action in the moment a particular threat enters the field.

While this is an effective response in the animal kingdom its purpose has become very muddled for humans, many of whom live in a state of constant fear while no evident threat presents. It is also contagious, where one frightened person can make another equally frightened, having been free of fear prior to that interaction. In your modern parlance fear of this nature becomes neurotic whereby you will believe a reason to fear exists when the reality tells you otherwise.

We see this now with so many of our human brothers and sisters who spend their whole lives in a state of low-level fear and anxiety, which robs them of their joy and robs the body of its health. The emotion of fear causes extreme tension in the body and the mind which left unabated causes myriad problems and debilities.

The opposite of fear is faith and while it is difficult to switch from one state to another it is not impossible. When the emotion of fear is appropriate it is always accompanied by extreme alertness in the moment the threat arises. After the threat has passed there is a sense of relief and the physical and mental tension abates, allowing the individual to return to a normal state of balance.

Those who live in a constant state of fear do not have this opportunity as their fear is based upon believed threats, not actual ones. When you find yourself gripped with fear first look at what it really is that you are so afraid of? Fear is easy to generate in the collective consciousness because it can be taught. You can be educated to feel afraid, by what you read and hear and what others tell you, but this is an inappropriate expression of fear.

It is extremely important when you observe the sensation of fear present within you, that you take a step back to examine what it is that you are really afraid of. In stepping back you can see the fear in a cool, calm light and you will see that those causes are not actual threats to your survival in that moment. It is more likely that you have taken on a fearful attitude as a result of being educated to adopt it. You now live in a world where people are becoming less connected to reality and more connected to a generated technical form of reality. Learn to question information that is presented to you and separate your own experience from what is being said about another person, situation, nation or group. Do not take the utterances of any form of public education as gospel. The less attached you become to the drama of what is presented to you, the less fear and anxiety you will experience. Inner guidance is more easily tapped into when the heart is calm and the mind quiet. We do not suggest you ignore the outer world, indeed you must take note of it, but know that who you truly are is senior to and greater than what you see around you.

A general feeling of inner quietude induces calmer thought processes and a greater sense of ease. Allowing this feeling to pervade opens the heart and lifts the mood. The more the heart opens the closer you feel to your true self – that deep part of the Self that knows it is infinite and perfect, that true Self that is beyond physical manifestation and personality. It is the Self that has witnessed the drama of your whole life without ever having moved or altered in any way, but is still as present today as it was last week or many years ago. You are the witness to your life and becoming anchored in this understanding allows you to enjoy your humanness with courage, faith, compassion and even humor.

Human thinking has allowed the minds of most people to become as easy to disturb as water – throw a small pebble in and the ripples begin immediately and spread far. A mind at ease is more like honey – hard to disturb and returning to stasis without a ripple effect.

Depression and anxiety are states of mind that mostly depend upon being caught up in past/future thinking. Regretting the past and fearing the future. The willingness to be still and present in the present moment alleviates this mental pain and struggle and automatically aids the connection to the heart and the Self. Sometimes it is not possible to do this but the ability to simply notice that you are in a high state of stress will instantly create a small opening in this gateway that you can gently walk through.

Despite what situations arise in your collective material world it is imperative that you take time to stand back from it and experience your true Self. You are surrounded by powers and presences that you have no awareness of, and yet are there to support and help you, and most of all, love you. No soul is cast alone into the material world without this. Simply know that you are loved beyond measure.
